Callum K (Year 5) submitted his artwork to The Made by Kent gallery competition. His ‘London Scape’ was awarded highly commended. Callum wrote about his art and the inspiration behind his work below:
“This piece of artwork took me a few weeks to put together. I called it ‘London Scape’ and it was inspired by Graham Clark, who is a local artist, and Stephen Wiltshire’s artwork. I started in pencil, then used fine point pens, and attempted perspective and scale on buildings. I then used watercolour pencils. The hardest part was the River Thames.”
The local artist and printmaker Graham Clarke has been in touch with Callum since he heard Callum was so inspired.
It is really great that children are entering art competitions, using their creativity and initiative!
