During Science this week, The Juniors have been studying the life of bees. It has been fascinating to think about the different types of bees and the variety of jobs they do. They looked at how bees work together for their survival, including communicating through the ‘waggle dance’. They thought about how crucial bees are to our survival and that we depend on them for so much more than their honey.
Many of our Junior pupils have used the opportunity to enjoy some practical Science. From modelling bees with craft materials, building bee nests for the garden and cooking Welsh cakes with honey, to a choropleth map of bees in the garden and writing acrostic poems.
