“Forget the Advent calendar… It is time for a Lockdown Calendar!”, says our Lent Term prefect, Evie W. “Try this for a nice way to cheer up someone you know who is shielding or finding lockdown hard.

Find, fill and date a series of envelopes; one for them to open day by day and then ask mum or dad to post them for you. Inside each one might be a picture you have drawn, a funny joke, an inspiring message or a challenge for them to complete. Yes, we all know you could put this on Twitter, but getting a bundle of messages in the post might be a nice change. Get your brothers and sisters involved and stuff as many envelopes with kindness, love and encouragement as you can.

We tried this in April and our grandparents loved it. I hope yours do too.”
