On Monday 14th June, Miss Jelfs and the Girls’ U15 Cricket team travelled to Mote Cricket Club to compete in the Kent Cricket Hardball Competition.
Three schools were involved – Kent College, King’s Rochester and ourselves. SVS played King’s Rochester in a 12-over game. King’s batted first and scored a total of 46 for 5. It was then SVS’s turn to bat, with some superb batting from the top order. We came away with the win, having scored 49 for 1, thanks to the brilliant bowling, fielding and batting performance from all the girls involved.
Next, we faced Kent College, which had a very strong side and saw them reach a total of 89 for 1. SVS started their batting innings well but struggled to keep it going as they had a flurry of wickets to see them lose the game 31 all out.
It was a very hot day in the field and a fantastic effort displayed by all the girls- well done to you all.
