Year 3’s Miro-inspired sculptures have been a towering success. Using the child-like, abstract imagery of the artist they have studied, Joan Miro, they created their own drawings, full of simple linear detail and bright colours. They then cut out their shapes, putting their sharp scissor skills to the test.
Next, they assembled a 3D sculpture from their drawings. This was a challenge for Year 3 as they had to balance different drawings together to assemble a stand-alone tower to elevate Miro mastery. Carefully cut slits attached the drawings to each other, no glue was used in the making of Year 3’s surreal towers. Fun, colourful, unique and eye-catching, Year 3’s Miro sculptures scaled new heights!
