Year 4 dramatically constructed theatres from recycled cereal boxes. Before planning their theatre design, they researched some architectural history, finding facts about theatre history, Ancient Greek plays and the origins of drama.
Drawing on their own interests, imagination and creativity, they set the stage for their theatre design. Curtains or no curtains? What story would the backdrop tell? How would the embellishments reflect their chosen theme? What characters would they create?
Year 4 donned their super designer costumes and rose to the challenge of constructing a theatre with charismatic characters! Their labelled, well-drawn theatre designs supported the construction process and Year 4 were the centre stage decision-makers; amending their designs where necessary. Their theatrics paid off and the final product was a sustainable, functional theatre!
