Year 6 has been using an online photo editing tool on their Surface Go’s using their stylus for their topic on Image Editing. For this lesson, they were focussing on using layers to combine different pictures.
They took a stock picture of a girl in a forest scene, added a copy of the image on top of the original and unsaturated it (removed all the colours to turn it black and white) and then erased parts of the layer to return the girl’s colour in a black and white scene.
Year 6 also learned about different file formats and the difference between a single JPEG file and a higher quality PXL file that retained separate layers and alteration information. They made some super pictures and adjusted the colours to put a unique slant on their images.
