Year 6 Prefect Olivia Q said, “I am swimming 22 miles to support the charity Macmillan, who care for and support people affected by cancer and their families. I saw the advert for this fundraising event ‘SwimIt’ and as I already swim a lot, I thought I could put my time in the pool to good use! I chose to swim the English Channel as it was a big challenge – 22 miles, or 1417 lengths of the Senior School pool! I started on 17th August and hope to complete the challenge by half term. I have already completed just over 12.5 miles and have raised £130 thanks to generous donations.”
Olivia also attended the ‘Adam Peaty Race Clinic’ where his whole team spent a day with the children. As well as pool time with Adam, his strength and conditioning coach led a gym session and his psychologist (who was also part of the British Swimming team in Tokyo) led a session about having a positive mindset.
