Last Saturday, our U10A Girls’ Hockey team competed in the Ashford Hockey Tournament. Due to Covid, the girls hadn’t managed to train as a team. This didn’t stop these wonderful, determined and athletic girls – no subs were needed and they played three terrific matches, winning two and losing one.
Alice was superb in goal with Avia and Eve putting in a solid performance in defence, stopping the opposition and clearing the ball to our attack. Alessia controlled the centre midfield position, distributing the ball to our attack and making careful and skilful passes. Our strikers consisted of Emilia, Isla and Holly and they were quick down the wings and hungry for goals in the circle, scoring some fantastic goals!
The girls were runners up and thrilled to have silver medals around their necks! We are so proud of these girls and Mrs Jacobs, Head of Girls’ Games was blown away by their determination and teamwork. Thank you to all the parents for their wonderful support on the sidelines.
