On Monday, the Colts A team travelled to Junior King’s, Canterbury to compete in the In2 Hockey Tournament.
The girls knew that they had a competitive afternoon of Hockey ahead – some had only just come back after isolating, some of the team were missing due to being off and they had not had the opportunity to train as a team. We had a mixture of Year 5 and 6 girls, but this didn’t stop the girls from wanting to do themselves and the School proud – in which, they didn’t disappoint!
A tough first two matches against Kent College, Canterbury and Ashford (the overall winners) saw us go down 2-0, in both games. After regrouping, discussing a few tactical strategies and with the utmost determination, they fought brilliantly to win their next three matches – winning 3-1 against Junior King’s, 2-0 against Wellesley House and 1-0 against St Edmund’s.
The girls got better and better with every game; it was a pleasure to see them progress. Overall, they finished third out of six schools, which was very commendable! Mrs Allison and Mrs Jacobs were very proud of the efforts the girls put in! A big thank you to Mrs Allison for coming and umpiring and supporting the girls on her day off and to the parents and grandparents for all their support too!
