An annual end of term tradition, this year’s whole School Baton Race was won by Holdgate for Seniors, Founder’s for Inters and Lambe’s for the Juniors. We are celebrating further CREST award success this week. Elizabeth Goodwin (Lower Sixth) has achieved a silver award for her excellent project on telescopes. Through experimentation, research and design, she successfully built her own reflecting telescope.
William Howgill (Lower Sixth) has also been awarded a Silver award. He investigated the effectiveness of different crash barriers by building a model car and catapult system, then a variety of impact attenuators, including fitch barriers full of sand and water, Armco barriers and crash cushions. He produced a short video to show his assessors, which you can watch here.
