Sport
Sutton Valence has built a proud sporting reputation and in recent years has produced male and female junior internationalists in hockey, rugby, biathle, canoeing and fly fishing and an olympic hockey player in Ashley Jackson. Furthermore, we are fortunate to possess state of the art sports facilities including Astroturf hockey pitches, an indoor sports centre, a new indoor swimming pool, extensive playing fields, an enviable cricket ground and a new athletics track (built in conjunction with Maidstone Borough Council and used by Medway and Maidstone Athletics Club).
However, the key is participation. Everyone is encouraged to join in and the School puts out teams at all levels. On average, Saturday afternoon fixtures will see over half the School participating in sport.
Our ethos is that all pupils should benefit from the extraordinary range of sporting opportunities on offer here. It is our intention that they come to value teamwork, friendship and the pure enjoyment of taking part, but also that they learn to apply the commitment, dedication and discipline needed to succeed on the sports field to their academic studies.
This website will only give the reader a flavour of what we do within the PE and Games Department. If at any time you have a question please don't hesitate to contact us on 01622 845259 or contact our Director of Sport, Graham Alderman.
