Pastoral Care

Alternate Text“Inspiring imagination and intellectual ambition with close personal support”

Sutton Valence is a forward and outward looking school with a strong community, which includes the pupils, their families, teaching and support staff, governors and trustees and members of the Old Suttonian Association.

Pupils attending the school come from a wide variety of backgrounds. About two thirds live locally and attend as day students. We also have approximately 140 boarders, and whilst most of these families live in the South East, a proportion come from overseas,. As a result, the school enjoys a healthily cosmopolitan mix.

At the centre of Sutton Valence’s foundation is a Christian ethos. The majority of our pupils are Christians, but all denominations are welcomed, which enables our pupils to grow within a tolerant community.

All of this, combined with excellent teaching and a reputation for outstanding pastoral care, means that Sutton Valence is able to provide the perfect environment in which its pupils are fostered, challenged, stimulated and encouraged to develop as strong, responsible, caring young people ready to face the challenges of modern life.
